Committees

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Communications Committee is to develop and provide information to the community about the WCDIA, its mission, club meetings, special events, and other information related to the activities and the presence of the Democratic Party in Warren County. The vehicles for distributing information can take various forms, including Website, newsletter, special flyers, information brochures, membership information, letters, posters, press releases, announcements in publications and newspapers, web links, telephone, phone tree, etc. The Recording Secretary will be a member of this committee.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Community Relations Committee is to provide a conduit of information to and from other organizations in the community and to create alliances and liaisons with groups and organizations who share common principles with WCDIA. The committee will establish a Governmental Watchdog Sub-Committee which will coordinate members’ attendance at governmental meetings on a regular basis for the purpose of providing information to the WCDIA Executive Committee for possible action (question, resolution, testimony or position) on behalf of WCDIA at any governmental meetings or hearings. The committee will also establish an Alliance Sub-Committee which would identify other groups and/or organizations which share common principles with WCDIA and would recommend representation, coordination or cooperation with the groups.

POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Political Action Committee is to identify issues which have a broad appeal to our membership and which are consistent with the principles of WCDIA, to research issues for the purpose of educating the membership and the broader community, and to work with other committees to design a "plan of action" specific to the issue. A sub-committee of the committee will be the Letter Writing Committee which will produce letters, emails, post cards, faxes and/or telephone calls in support of candidates and issues identified by the committee and the membership. Letters written in the name of WCDIA will require the approval of the Executive Committee.

PROGRAM PLANNING COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Program Planning Committee is to develop an annual plan for special activities, events and regular monthly meetings which will provide a map for the coordination of activities of the various committees. Programs will be planned to provide interesting and informative meetings which will inform members of relevant local, state and national governmental and Democratic issues through vehicles such as candidate meetings, forums, invited speakers, and representatives of significant other groups.

FINANCE/DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Finance/Development Committee is to budget, allocate and raise funds according to PAC regulations. The committee will research and develop ideas for fundraising, and will be responsible for planning and implementation of ideas approved by the Executive Committee. Committees will submit budget requests to the Finance/Development Committee. The Treasurer is a member of the Committee.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Hospitality Committee is to assure that the necessary equipment and materials are available for monthly meetings to run an effective and efficient meeting. The committee will assure the meeting place is available, provide appropriate room arrangements, arrange for refreshments when indicated, identify the meeting room for new members and guests, and perform as greeters. The committee will work with other committees on special events.
